It’s the time of year when next year’s color trends are revealed by top paint companies. I love to see what they come up with, but this season’s selections have been a bit of a surprise. Usually there are a few colors that are considered “out there,” or super bold. Not a color choice that you would see a lot of people making. But for 2025, it seems we’re going to see a lot of comforting colors. And many companies are going with different shades of the same color. Let’s take a look!

Encore by Valspar

Valspar selected a gem-like blue for 2025, and it looks very similar to the blue I used in my Cherry Hills project’s powder room. It’s a gorgeous hue that has a lot of depth and offers a strong take on a favorite color. There are a lot of blue tones on this list, but this one is the boldest.

Mochi by Little Greene

Softer neutrals are also showing up a lot on 2025’s list, like this layered neutral paint. Mochi looks gray in some lights and has brown tones in others. The company that selected says that it is a very “restful” color, much like the one I used in the closet above.

Mapped Blue by Dutch Boy

Another blue on our list, this shade is not as bold as the selection from Valspar, but it still makes a statement. I chose a similar paint color for my own kitchen (above), and this blue is definitely becoming a timeless classic. Blue shades make us feel calm and safe, so it’s no wonder we’re seeing a lot of them for 2025.

Truffle by Stainmaster

Browns and blacks have become so much more popular in home design colors, and this very rich brown is definitely going to craft cozy rooms in 2025. I used a deep brown paint in the bathroom above, and had gingko leaves handpainted in gold over the top. It’s such a rich and gorgeous look!

Quietude by Sherwin-Williams

The final blue tone on our list for 2025 is a paler shade with a grayed tone. It definitely fits the paint color name, with a quiet and calm look. I used a very similar color in the bathroom above, and it created an oasis of serenity for my clients!
