Cabinetry Colors in the Bathroom
Color is something that many people find hard to commit to in their homes. There is a fear that they’ll get tired of it, or that they will make the wrong choice. But when it comes to cabinetry, it’s easy to change to another color if you’re unhappy. Before you get to that point, it’s best to find a color you KNOW you’ll love before the cabinets are ordered. Here are my best tips for selecting cabinetry colors for your bathroom.
Choose a Color You Already Love
Select a color that already makes you happy and you’ll love it on your cabinetry. If you love blue, try a pale hue to create a serene style. In the bathroom I designed above, a lovely blue-gray created an oasis for my clients.
Go Neutral
Try a neutral color that’s a bit bolder. A great way to do that is to select a color from your tile that will complement the look. I selected a deep taupe in the bathroom above and it perfectly highlights that color in the shower tile.
Create a Beautiful Backdrop
Let the color you select be the star player in your bathroom. If you create a backdrop that’s white, the cabinet color you’ve selected with definitely stand out. Navy and white is a classic combination, so I used it to create a crisp and tailored look in this Katy, TX, bathroom.
Experiment in a Powder Room
A powder room is a great space to try bolder looks. It isn’t a room you enter all the time, and brighter colors give the space a lot of personality. Try something daring or at least stronger than you might in another room. I used the wallpaper in the powder room above as my inspiration for a fabulous royal blue. It looks amazing on the floating vanity.
White Is Still Alright
There is a reason that people love white cabinetry in a bathroom. It’s crisp and clean and it’s a classic. So if that’s what you want, then go for it! The idea is to create a look that you and your family will love - so try the colors that make you happy!
Warmly,
